So, I've found a few new things that I've added to my packing list. Rather that go over everything again, you can check out the previous list here. Here is the list of updates:
sunblock/bug spray
tripod
camcorder
6 hours of video tape
shampoo, toothpaste, and other liquids
2 more pairs of socks
1 button up shirt (there maybe a semi-formal situation where a T-shirt would not be appropriate)
In my trial run at packing my backpack I have been able to fit all of these item into my bag as well as those listed in the previous packing post. Because I found that I have the space I decided
to bring my liquid toiletries rather than purchase them after I arrive. Additionally, I found that I have enough permethrin spray to treat the extra pairs of sock and shirt. I thought that it would be a good idea to capture some of this trip on video. So I asked around and found a camcorder that would fit in my pack. Luckily the owner was kind enough to let me borrow it for the trip.
I am currently debating the option of brining a briefcase as well. I found that all my gear will fit into the single backpack, but it may be beneficial to have some things in a smaller bag which would be under my seat on the plane instead of keeping everything in the overhead compartment. This would allow me to have easy access to my laptop and books while on the flight and it's not like a briefcase will be too inconvenient to carry. I'd love to see your suggestions in the comments.

I fly frequently because my mom works for the airlines and i definitely think you should bring a briefcase to put some books and ur laptop in if ur bringing it. Its always a hassle to get into the overhead compartment, especially if theres turbulence or if you have a window seat and theres someone beside you. It is also hard to find stuff in a full backpack while its still in the overhead without digging out everything else. I think its a good plan. Also maybe include a few lil snacks, so long as theyre not liquids you can bring them to munch on and might save you money on the crummy airline food.
